Romantic Travel - Spending Time Together

Traveling together can be extremely romantic. You get to spend lots of time together without the distractions of ordinary life.

Even a day trip away can be great, especially if you add in a romantic dinner at the end and maybe even an overnight away.

Longer trips can be fantastic together and there are many many options. Both lots of places to visit in the US and Canada and elsewhere, as well as modes of travel from a cruise, a fully escorted trip, to just winging it and planning on your own or figuring it out once you get there.

It's a big world and there are plenty of fascinating places to go.

Why don't you offer to take her somewhere? It may be much more affordable than you think.

Not everyone likes the idea of jumping on a plane or boat for an extended period of time.

There are probably lots of relatively close places you can travel to or at least offer to take her. Niagara Falls is a classic romantic trip! And it is relatively inexpensive as well.

There are plenty of great US and Canada travel options available - travel doesn't need to mean big bucks and far away!

Of course, you might also find that you are less compatible than you thought. Or possibly it's that you simply don't travel well together.

Different people can have radically different ideas of what they want from travel. One may want first class everything, which is very nice, but in a foreign land often removes you from any meaningful contact with locals. Others prefer to stay in local type as opposed to tourist type lodging and really get to know a place and the people well.

Before traveling, discuss what you expect and want out of travel. For example, visiting Cancun, staying at a resort, and sipping Margaritas, is far different than traveling though Mexico on your own and experiencing authentic Mexico, not a lovely resort that could be anywhere. Both are fine, and fun, just talk about it in the planning stages of your trip!
